Wounded Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen want to know one thing: Does anyone care?
The answer can only be given individually by each American and talk is cheap -- action is required. One way you can show your support is to make a Quilt of Valor (QOVTM).
Join the thousands who have made QOVs showing honor and giving tangible comfort to our physically, psychologically and spiritually wounded service members. Help make a QOV for our wounded military. These QOVs do make a difference in their lives!
There are three ways to get involved making a QOV and one of them doesn't even involve sewing!
- Make a quilt -top with a backing. Don't worry about quilting it because you will team up with a longarmer who volunteers to do that part. You will be a"quilt-topper" on our team
- Machine quilt a QOV top. Don't worry about piecing, because that's already been done. All you have to do is quilt. You will be a "longarmer" on our team.
- Donate funds to the QFOV non-profit foundation to offset the costs of making and shipping QOVs. You will be the "rear-echelon" support.
For more information please visit www.qovf.org.
***That Quilter supports QOVF. QOVF is a well-established registered non-profit foundation. That Quilter acts as a "longarmer" for QVOF. As a result, That Quilter happily does the quilting (at no charge) only for quilts being donated to QOVF. Therefore, bring us your QOV quilt-top, with a backing, and we will furnish the batting and the quilting at no charge. We can also make the label. It will then be returned to you (the "quilt-topper") for binding and shipping to its final QOV destination.
- Please see the QOVF website, www.qovf.org, for destination information.
- Also, please see the QOVF website for information regarding the requirements for a quilt to be considered a QOV (size, quality, etc.), found under "Piecing & Stuff"
